Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s Inaugural
Decentralized Point-of-Care Testing: Pharmacy, Home-Based, and Beyond
Disrupting Inefficiencies in Traditional Healthcare Models
August 22-23, 2023
Within the last few years, we saw a seismic global shift in the acceptance and availability of point-of-care testing, bolstered by a heightened interest in and capability for decentralized processes. Healthcare systems and providers were pushed to rapidly
adapt new processes, many of which persist today. With the increased prevalence of point-of-care testing, some pharmacies have started to bridge the gaps in healthcare accessibility. Direct-to-consumer mail-in testing and digital health monitoring
are expanding rapidly due to their convenience and flexibility. However, these innovations do not come without various challenges, such as logistics, continuity of care, and data security. Cambridge Healthtech Institute's inaugural meeting on Decentralized
Point-of-Care Testing: Pharmacy, Home-Based, and Beyond will explore both the successes and obstacles of point-of-care testing and seeks to discover novel areas where point-of-care testing can be applied.
Coverage will include, but is not limited to:
- Setting up pharmacies for point-of-care testing and immediate prescribing
- Using multiplex testing for respiratory pathogens and infectious disease
- Reviewing regulatory hurdles to innovation
- Expanding point-of-care testing indications and applications
- Exploring digital health monitoring
- Protecting data and mitigating cybersecurity risks
- Integrating at-home testing with the healthcare system
- Overcoming reimbursement challenges
- Disrupting traditional healthcare infrastructure
- Understanding laboratory perspectives
The deadline for priority consideration is January 30, 2023.
All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program.
